What is KY West?
Our mission is to identify and celebrate the many elements of the culture of Kentucky West, which begins at the western edge of Kentucky and encompasses the Jackson Purchase Region.
Our purpose
Kentucky West is a centralized, useful hub connecting residents and visitors with local businesses, events, people, places, and experiences. It exists to inform, invite exploration, and strengthen community through an accessible, evolving collection of regional knowledge.
Our why
Western Kentucky is often described from places far east of the Jackson Purchase. That can leave the counties at Kentucky’s true western edge outside the conversation. The name Kentucky West puts this region where it belongs: at the beginning of the story.
Our goals
We organize and host events and activities that celebrate Kentucky West culture—including art, music, history, food, customs and rituals, faith and belief, and education. This site is the digital front porch where those stories and useful connections can meet.
